The Mississippi region's season opener was a success with a solid turnout on both days, despite a stormy Saturday forecast.  A more thorough writeup is available below.

After the Grenada event, I decided it was time to try something different: I would jump from B Stock to Street Touring Ultra.  The setup details can be found in the "Read more..." link below.  Pete at TC Kline racing gave me some good baseline settings and the car behaved really nicely.  I ended up taking first place both days, each by a touch under half a second.  I didn't do any video on Sunday, but I got a couple from Saturday.  These aren't necessarily my fast runs, just a couple that I pulled from the camera.

A low turnout in Grenada didn't stop me from a poor performance.  I took third (out of eight) on Saturday, and sixth (out of nine) on Sunday.  This was my first weekend with the new TC Kline double-adjustable shocks.  I had a tough time getting my setup dialed in (it was very oversteer-prone) and I was on old tires.  Mediocre driving didn't help either.

I made the trip to Memphis to run with the Mid-South SCCA region at Memphis Motorsports Park.  I was looking forward to being able to run against Asher Wunderl in a B Stock M3.  Knowing that Asher has lots of experience in such a car (and is a very capable driver) I was glad for the opportunity to see how I stacked up.

 Drew 56.820 (2)
54.470 (1) 52.570 51.790
 Asher54.130 (1)  50.810 50.87050.640

That tells the story, basically.  Asher got acquainted with the course on his first run and then turned three very consistent runs.  On the other hand, I was still finding huge amounts of time on each successive run.  I didn't manage to get video of my fourth run, but the clip of my third run is available here .  Class results are here and PAX results are here .

On Sunday the boys from Arkansas were gone, leaving me to sandbag in B Stock.  My goal for the day was to take the overall fast PAX, although it wasn't to be.  The high-horsepower cars took it to me in the long straight and I couldn't make up the ground elsewhere.  Only the first three runs from this day counted, as someone blew an oil line during the second group of runs and the course had to be altered.  Video of my third (and best) run is here .  Class results are here and PAX results are here .

The Tennessee Valley Region SCCA put on a good event this past weekend to wrap up the Southeastern Divisional series.  I'm not even in that division, but I made the trip anyway.  The site is great - grippy asphalt that isn't too abrasive on tires.  My driving was okay - not great, but not as awful as I was in Walnut Ridge.

My best run on Saturday was the fourth (and final) one.  The video is available here.  Notice that I missed the shift to second (twice) at the beginning of the run.  The rest of the run was okay, and after crossing the line and seeing my time, I expressed my frustration over the missed shift.  As a result, this video is rated PG-13 for language.   I ended the day in 5th place (out of 6 drivers), and 24th in PAX (out of about 110 drivers).

Sunday the weather was cooler, but I was exhausted from not getting much sleep the previous two nights.  All of my runs were mediocre.  My best was the fourth and final run of the event (video here ).  I won't comment on this run because there are at least half a dozen places that I can point out where I lost time.  Still, everybody else must have been exhausted as well, because I jumped to 4th in B Stock and to 21st in PAX.

I'd like to thank the people who made the weekend as fun as it was.  That particularly includes my fellow B Stock competitors - couldn't ask for a better group.
